For Christmas LEGO wanted to create something that would make people feel warm and fuzzy inside during the festive period.

What we came up with was an hour long stop motion video of a festive fireplace. Obviously this wouldn’t just be the fireplace on the loop we wanted to keep the viewer’s attention.

Every 10 minutes we introduced a scenes to add layers to the animation.

For a limited time only

We didn’t want this to be just a video upload we wanted the millions of LEGO fans to know that this content was only available for a limited amount of time.

The video was placed on loop and simultaneously streamed via Facebook & YouTube from dedicated servers for 2 weeks.

Results

The stream stayed active without interruption for 320 hours.
Which resulted in average dwell time of 30+ mins

Facebook: 6k+ reactions / 2k+ comments / 5k shares
YouTube: 100k unique streams
